Today's prompt was "A Doorway", so I got to take a shot of our still festively decorated door.
Capture Your 365 for the prompts.
I am also 30 days in to my 5-year diary, the second big project I took on this year. I used to journal a lot, and really enjoyed it. I drifted away from it however when I sometimes felt like I had nothing to say. My 5 year journal is based on answering a question a day in a sentence or two, and then answering the same question on the same day for the next few years. I found my prompts through Get It Scrapped, and am finding them incredibly helpful. I actually look forward to answering my question each day. If you're interested in trying it yourself, the questions for January and February can be found here.

Yesterday's prompt "Blue" was a bit of a challenge for me. I only have a half hour for lunch most days, so all of my photo taking is limited to before and after work. Right now, that generally means before and after the sun is out. I wanted a great sky pic, but no luck by the time I left the office. Upon arriving home, I found a few possible subjects, but couldn't find good ways to light them. I finally settled on getting a shot of a bunch of different blues in my nail polish collection. I think it turned out OK.

Today's topic was Natural Treasure. This theme would have been fine a few days ago, when the snow and ice was gorgeously coating the trees, but here in Halifax, we have had a ton of rain, then a little more snow over the past couple of days. Outside is a all a gross shade of soggy grey. Bleh. So, I had to seek inspiration inside. In this house, plants are not safe. I always have the best of intentions, but inevitably forget to water them. Amazingly, this little bamboo plant has managed to start a new sprout, despite my neglect. Capture Your 365 to play along.

It's been a while since I posted here. I had too much on my plate and needed some downtime. I have decided that 2014 will be the year that I explore my creativity, so have taken on a few projects to help me with that. The first major one is a 365 photo challenge inspired by Capture Your 365. Since we are a few days into the month I already have some photos to share, so here we go.

Every month over in the forum at Gotta Pixel a series of challenges are issued for community members to participate in to stretch their scrapping skills. One of those challenges is the Design It Color Challenge, which provides a color palette and a theme and challenges those who play along to create a mini kit. This is my second month giving it a shot. I was pretty happy with how my kit turned out, and a couple of members asked if I would share the kit, so here it is.

Welcome to my blog! I am SO excited to be a part of the August Trixie Scraps Stars Blog Hop! You should have arrived from Shauna's World and your next stop will be Kassie Scraps. If you get lost be sure to head back to your Map of the Stars at http://blog.trixiescraps.com/2012/08/a-trixie-scraps-blog-hop.html .
This month we all created little freebies with Summer on the Boardwalk. I love this kit because it really captures those sunny days down on the boardwalk by the water. The bright yellows, oranges, and blues are such a nice take on the summer season.
And here's your freebie - a quick page.
Please leave me a little note if you download :) Thanks for stopping by! Your next stop is Kassie Scraps.
